Alan has a technology degree, 25 years of experience working in IT, and 18 years in management roles. For the past 16 years, Alan has specialised in the hospitality/leisure/tourism industry and has recently moved into the government utility sector. Taking on the CIO role at GMW, Alan sits on the executive team, and leads a team of 60+ IT staff.
Goulburn-Murray Water is Australia's largest rural water corporation managing around 70% of Victoria's stored water resources, around 50% of Victoria's underground water supplies and Australia's largest irrigation delivery network. GMW is in the midst of delivering the Connections Project on behalf of the State and Federal Governments. The Connections Project is a $2 billion investment in the modernisation of the irrigation infrastructure in the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District delivering water efficiency and water saving outcomes.GMW run the largest SCADA network in the world, with 18,000 sites and over 2 million data points
